TITLE: .NET Architect – Decision Systems                      

LOCATION: SFO, CA

DURATION: 6 MONTHS

REPORTING TO:     Sr. Director Advanced Analytics

 

This role will be the technical lead of the development team and will be responsible for designing and architecting components and features based on requirements, managing the development staff, and participating in the development of key features/components.  This position of .NET Architect interacts closely Inventory Strategy team as the primary application requirements creators.

  

This position requires proven success implementing scalable, high-performance .NET applications and services from conception to delivery.  In addition effective communication to both management and the team of software engineers is a requirement. Experience overseeing and participating in the development of software on the Microsoft .NET platform (ASP.NET, Entity Framework, SQL Server, and Web Services) is an absolute must.

 

Overall, this role is a key part of the analytical ecosystem to drive analytical excellence and consistency.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understands and can help drive all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Experience with Agile Development Lifecycle.
• Provide expertise and leadership on technical design and architecture.
• Including client/server, service oriented and web driven architectures.
• Conduct design reviews and code reviews, help enforce best practices, coding guidelines, and code quality.
• Work with product owners to analyze functional requirements and technical feasibility.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
• Work with developers to identify project tasks and provide estimates.
• Provide guidance on optimizing and performance tuning current production code.
• Software design, architecture and development in client, server, DB products.
• Document cube design in an easy to understand manner for other users.

• Prioritize correctly, keeping business value at the forefront of the decision making process.
• Create production grade ETL packages to populate datasets needed for cube building.
• Build monitoring, QA, and maintenance processes that ensure the ongoing reliability of built end products

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years experience in software development
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft .NET 4.0, C#, ASP.NET, MS AJAX, MS MVC, MS SQL, IIS, WCF, ADO.NET, XML/Web Services, and SQL Server.
• Expert knowledge in Object Oriented Principles and Design Patterns
• Expert knowledge in database design and development
• Expertise in n-tiered web architectures, SOA and related technologies (XML, SOAP, REST, JSON, etc.)
• Expertise in HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, other front-end development technologies
• Experience developing software using Agile/Scrum methodology
• Experience with Team Foundation Server & Sharepoint
• Experience managing software development teams including project planning and implementation
• Demonstrated ability to lead software development teams and successfully deliver products from initial concept through design, testing and launch within budgets and time constraints
• Experience developing and deploying service-oriented applications, including external facing web services with a focus on security and partner integration
• Ability and desire to operate in a high-initiative,  startup like company environment
• Must have a team-oriented, mutual-successfocused attitude

 

Desired

• Experience defining applications in UML
• Ability to configure and deploy .NET based applications using Windows 2008R2 Network Load Balancing and Clustering

Education: 

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
