Senior Business Analyst

Location: Austin, TX

Duration: 6+ months

Position: 7 BA's  

 

Role Description:

 

Senior Business Analyst will interact directly with key stakeholders in the business and play an instrumental role in defining and managing requirements, from high level user requirements to detailed functional specifications. 

will work closely with Solution Architects and Project Managers to drive successful execution of IT projects while co-owning development and execution of test strategy with QA Analysts. 

The position requires a broad range of skills and ability to step into different roles, incl. the role of Solution Architect, depending on the size and scope of an engagement.

The initial assignment will be to support multi-year initiative to transform R&D Project Based Accounting (PBA) and Financial Planning processes and systems.


REQUIRED

 

·         5+ years of Business Analyst or equivalent experience, as identified in Principal Responsibilities

·         3+ years of experience with data warehouse, data mart and/or business intelligence platforms

·         Basic knowledge of SQL

·         Expert in preparing use cases, business requirements, functional specifications, test scripts

·         Advanced with Excel, Access and/or other reporting and data analysis tools

·         Strong analytical skills, ability to pay attention to details, pragmatic, innovative

·         Advanced interpersonal communication skills

·         Ability to lead a small to medium sized teams

·         Able and willing to take on hands-on role

·         Self-Starter motivated by achieving team goals

 

DESIRED

 

·         BS Degree from accredited university

·         Expertise with Excel, incl. macros and VB scripts

·         Experience with PBA or budget planning systems

·         Experience with SAP Finance, SAP BPC, SAP PS

·         Experience in semi-conductor industry

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Provide research assistance and clarity of business demand specifications.  Bridge gap between business and IT ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment

·         Coordinate the business subject matter experts' involvement in all aspects of the project

·         Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs.  Document requirements, define scope and objectives, and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies

·         Bring business acumen to the management of requirements (e.g. I understand what AMD is trying to achieve)

·         Beyond just capturing business requirements, tie requirements to decisions that need to be made and to strategic objectives, or corporate KPI's

·         Build Use Cases around collected requirements and map into test scenarios.  Transition requirements to test cases to provide traceability

·         Support conversion and production cutover efforts
