BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB
Developers work under supervision, assisting in preparing specifications and user requirements to meet business needs. They then develop, test, debug, and document programs for specific mid-sized projects. They will also assist other developers on more complex projects. This position does NOT make decisions independently that can affect the overall outcome of the business or the company.
WORK PERFORMED

• Assist with implementation of project architecture, standards and processes, under the direction of Lead and Manager
• Research, identify and document technical requirements
• Assist with implementation of project design, standards and processes, under the direction of Lead and Manager
• Create and maintain project documentation, in accordance with established standards
• Accurately estimating time on multiple projects
• Attend daily scrum meeting
• Provide senior project staff with full communication of project progress
• Work with Lead and Manager to develop time estimates for project tasks
• Develop code in keeping with established processes and standards
• Debug and unit test modules before deployment to QA environment
• Assist deployment staff by providing necessary documentation
• Responsible for testing and code review of the applications before release to production, including submission of appropriate integration test specifications
• Develop positive working relationships with the business and IS organization.
• Take responsibility for resolving scrum tasks and other assigned tasks by the agreed upon deadlines or milestone promise dates
• Maintain awareness of software product developments and trends in technology and determine if and how they can be used to enhance productivity at Insight
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions of Job:
• Designing and building applications with languages as outlined
• Experience with a revision control system (Subversion preferred)
• Strong creative problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, client-services environment
• Experienced with Agile/Scrum practices
• Has participated in group project work sessions making major decisions regarding application design, architecture, and system testing
• Candidate should work well in a team environment and be able to give and receive constructive feedback, yet and aggressive self-starter and change agent. This person will require little supervision and possess leadership characteristics with a strong commitment to his/her career
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business/ professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations is necessary. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, other employees is a plus.

• XML / XML Schema knowledge
• Spring Framework
• Hibernate
• Web Services (REST)
• MS SQL Server 2008
• JBoss Application Server 4 desirable
• Unix/Linux/Windows environments
