Oracle DBA – Need a very strong high end Oracle RAC Administrator

 

Location:  Nashville, TN

Duration:  6 months plus

 

Info that came from the manager - Looking for someone with good basic knowledge of the operations of Oracle databases. Someone who can communicate effectively and needs minimal supervision.  Finding someone with all the skills listed below will not be easy.  Focus on what the manager said above.  The more skills they have below the better chance of getting the job.

 

Task/Job Description

 

Manager RDBMS utilizing the Linux operating system and Oracle 10gR2, including test, development and production. The database also utilizes data recovery options with RMAN. Due to the complex nature of the setup, configuration, maintenance and performance requirements of this database system, a Database Administrator is require that has both exposure and skill sets in Oracle 10g, Real Application Clustering, Linux, PeopleSoft Applications and SQL tuning.

Key components include: Analyze performance issues in PeopleSoft environment Orchestrate turning efforts with development and testing groups Understand PeopleSoft architecture, data management, partitioning and data archive methodology Participate in various initiatives like EPM data warehousing using ETL tools, project code migrations, etc Monitor and administer Oracle RDBMS, RAC and Dataguard components Administer backup, recovery, cloning and refreshing various environments using RMAN Evaluate alternate strategies as the need arises Perform upgrades, patches and installations of the Oracle RDBMS, clusterware and RAC components.

 

JOB SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

 

Requires a minimum of 2 years of current experience in this job class.    

Experience working with and communicating with cross-functional groups (development, qa, production, systems administration); minimum of three yrs within the last ten yrs.

Experience working with Oracle Technical Support to obtain diagnostic outputs and correct procedures; minimum of three yrs within the last ten yrs.

Experience with Oracle GRID Experience with TOAD or SQL Developer Preferred: Experience with Linux Redhat 4 and 5; minimum of three yrs within the last seven yrs.

Thorough understanding and hands on experience managing multiple Oracle 10gR2 RDBMS systems; minimum of five yrs within the last seven yrs.

Thorough understanding and hands on experience using Oracle RMAN backup/recovery utilities; minimum of five yrs within the last seven yrs.

Hands on experience tuning SQL, PL/SQL and database objects; minimum of five yrs within the last seven yrs.

Background with hands on experience working with PeopleSoft systems; minimum of five yrs within the last seven yrs.

Must be able to deliver quality and accurate work, provide results, meet or exceed deadlines and communicate with stakeholders; minimum of five yrs within the last seven yrs.

Must have worked in a 24x7 distributed database environment; minimum of five yrs within the last seven yrs.

Minimum of 5 years experience with Oracle RDBMS with 3 of those years managing both Oracle RAC and Oracle Dataguard ; minimum of five yrs within the last seven yrs.

Education: Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science or engineering.

Advance knowledge of business process analysis; minimum of three yrs within the last ten yrs.
