Job Title: Front End Developer

Location: Columbia, MD

Duration: 12 Months

 

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve our current codebase, new features are added daily, but we like to make sure the old features still work
• Estimate work involved for tasks assigned to you
• Identify current or potential issues, be able to explain them and resolve them
• Provide feedback on user experience and suggest improvements
• Be able to adapt to work with many different styles of code

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• "Straight up" JavaScript knowledge as well as experience with jQuery is required
• XHTML skills with focus on standards compliant markup
• Experience with source control
• Knowledge of prototypal vs classical inheritance
• Knowledge of items affecting scope and memory usage
• Experience with Event-Driven JavaScript Programming
• Experience with Canvas and SVG
• Experience with Cross-Window Communication and knowledge of the technological and security concerns of the various approaches
• Experience with server side development a plus but not required
