 Amzur Technologies, a Tampa, FL-based custom software development and IT staffing firm, seeks a seasoned PowerBuilder Developer/Analyst for a long-term contract based in Richmond, VA.

Our client seeks a string candidate with proven experience in performing programming solutions for existing problems and making system enhancements from documented system specifications.

Qualifications:

• Assist during requirements gathering and design sessions; this assistance includes prototyping, discussion of technical constraints / impact analysis, identification of technical solutions including alternate solution analysis and order of magnitude estimation.
• Perform data analysis and design; database normalization; data modeling (logical / physical); data flow diagramming
• Assist System Analysts and Project Managers during documentation of Technical Specifications
• Develop and maintain code units (PowerBuilder and Oracle) based on Technical Specification documents. Code units should be evaluated for performance tuning, maintainability, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Perform code walkthrough and/or peer review of code
• Develop scripts for Oracle database changes related to data, database structure (packages, stored procedures, trigger, etc.) and database efficiency analysis
• Plan and execute Unit / Integration testing including documentation of test results
• Perform build compilation of PowerBuilder code units; the compiled code will be package for installation in support of various levels of testing in addition to production distribution.
• Maintain Oracle database instances in support of development and testing environments;
• Provides technical assistance for various levels of testing, deployment / implementation support, production support and operational support. This technical assistance includes defect troubleshooting, monitoring and resolution.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation; these documents will be utilized for deployment / implementation support, production support and operational support.
• Creation and maintenance of UNIX shell scripts
• Works independently and in a team environment
• Communicates effectively (oral interpersonal, technical writing and presentations)
• Review of existing requirements and documentation
• Documentation of process improvements, including data verification
• Completion of development and testing and data validation
• Support of Unit and System Integration testing
• Creation of maintenance and troubleshooting of SQL scripts, including: data population and modification, database structure, stored procedures and other Oracle database objects
• Creation and maintenance of UNIX shell scripts
• Maintenance of Oracle 9i/10g database instances in support of development, testing, training and production environments
• Provision of audit requests and database conversions as may be necessary
