Location: Kennett Square, PA
6 to 10 years of Java development, specifically in the development of error handling or logging frameworks (this is not the standard logging and exception handling inherent in Java development; this is developing an application specifically for the purpose of error handling and logging). The candidate must have experience with SOA development and be familiar with several Java frameworks such as MVC, Spring, Struts, etc.
The client is building a service that will log errors / exceptions that are thrown from their Tibco, Informatica or SSIS data integration platforms. Once one of these systems throws an error, an alert mechanism will trigger the application to open. They need someone who understands SOA (XML) well enough to be able to help design this service and build the application out, UI and all (once these errors are thrown, the user will have to decide when and how to proceed, so a GUI will be needed).
The application stack is Java / J2EE, Spring middle tier and Struts. An understanding of the MVC design pattern will be needed (though they aren't using Spring MVC specifically, just the MVC pattern in the Spring framework). A background in SOA / web services / XML is required; the candidate will have to understand web services well enough to help design and develop this service / application.
