Following are the Position Details:
Title: SQL Server DBA
Location: Harrisburg, PA
Type of Hire: Contract
Duration: 1+ year
Job Description:
- Local candidates are preferred.
- A personal interview is required.
- The DBA is responsible for data analysis and database management.
- DBAs typically are involved in maintenance, enhancement, designing of data dictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning.
DBA Tasks:
- Deploy Request for Changes
- Production
- User Acceptance Test
- Assist Internal Development
- Assist External Development (e.g. Unclaimed Property UPS2000 system)
Operate Daily Routines:
- Response to performance issues
- Response to a corrupted database
- Response to a special job run request (e.g. SAP Data Mid-day load)
- Response to failed batch jobs (e.g. scheduled FR reports generation job)
- Response to failed db backup jobs
- Response to occasional production database restore request
- Refresh Acceptance DBs and Development DBs
- Perform data query requests from other agencies
- Do database and SQL job documentation
- Prepare and test database migration to a newer version
- Automate DBA administrative tasks
- Configure new DB servers/databases
