Amzur Technologies, a Tampa, FL based custom software development and IT staffing firm, seeks a seasoned Oracle DBA for a long-term contract based in the Tampa Bay area.
Our client is a national leader in providing solutions for businesses to grow their sales. We seek a senior DBA with 8+ years of solid experience working as a PRIMARY DBA for PRODUCTION databases. The environment has 7 databases in (each has Production, Development, and Staging environments). Responsibilities include all DBA activities, database tuning, and assist in migrating databases to a newer version of HPUX. This is a 24/7 support position, so you will have to be available for on-call support when it is needed.
Technologies: 8+ years of Oracle 10g, HPUX, Apache, JBoss, SQL and PL/SQL
Position Requirements:
• Must have prior experience as primary Oracle DBA supporting production environments. Must have references showing the experience as PRIMARY DBA.
• Daily support Oracle database instances supporting call center sales, finance, and recruiting
• Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products
• Maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
• Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
• Monitor application and system error logs; troubleshoot problems with assistance from development team
• Monitor capacity trends and assist with growth planning
• Perform general technical troubleshooting and assist development teams as required
• Perform performance optimization on PL/SQL in support of application development and support
• Work as part of a team and provide support when required; consult with technical experts or vendor as necessary to solve difficult problems
• Oracle software patch management and version control
• Setup and maintain documentation and standards
• Creating / updating service tickets (HP Service Center) to track/manage DBA support activity
• Execute table changes (DDL) in various environments (test, stage, production)
• Ensure synchronization of environments (version control)
• Support other tasks as deemed a priority by client management (e.g. audits, upgrades, etc.)
• 24x7 on-call support for critical production database issues
• Support occasional weekend work for upgrades and service when systems are scheduled for maintenance
• Experience/Knowledge with any web servers (Apache, JBoss) is a HUGE plus but not required.
This is a long-term position that presents the possibility of engagement for more than one year.
